The SSI Open Water Diver course is the ideal way to start your new adventure into the Fantastic and Wonderful underwater world.

At Aqua Action Diving Services, Canberra’s largest dive store and using SSI’s, modular and modern teaching methods, you will be guided through the theory and practical training to become a confident, competent Open Water Scuba Diver.

During your day and a half of theory training (full time attendance course), or during your FREE on line learning sessions you will learn about:

How the water pressure affects you
The equipment that we use
The waves and tides
How to communicate under water
And much, much more

During the one day pool practical session with Aqua Action you will learn:

Getting water out of your mask
Moving under water
Breathing normally under water
Buoyancy control
Entry and exits from the water
And much more

Then when you attend the 2 day, 5 coastal water dive weekend with us, you will put these new skills and more into use, all under the watchful eyes of Aqua Action's quality instructors.

Using SSI’s exclusive comfort though repetition teaching methods and Aqua Action Diving Service’s experienced instructors you will become a more confident and competent diver and begin the journey into the under water world of exploration.

Our Open Water courses start on the first Thursday of each month and course numbers are kept small to provide a personal training atmosphere (extra courses available when demand requires). Special dates available for organised groups. The structure of the course can be adjusted to suit group requirements.

Included

in the course costs are all training and course materials, hire of scuba equipment and two nights accommodation when at the coast. And on completion an Internationally recognised certification from Scuba Schools International (SSI).

Price:

$575.00 (Student concession available) Full two week end course and one evening face to face with your instructor

or

$530.00 If you complete the On line learning in your own time and home and then finish the practical with Aqua Action over Half day Saturday, one Sunday for the Pool work and the following weekend at the coast

Now with SSI in Australia (excluding QLD) you are only required to complete and pass a medical questionnaire before starting your Open Water Diver course.

If however there are any pre existing diving contradictions identified within that questionnaire you will still be able to complete the open water course after passing a full dive medical with a GP . Please contact the shop for further information and to make a booking.
